Top ten and an additional ten schools which offer undergraduate Biomedical Engineering (BME) degrees by total BME graduating class size for each school. These schools represent 1758 graduates. They represent about 47 percent of the total number of B.S. BME graduates for 2009. The Bureau of Labor Statistics projects approximately 1500 new Biomedical Engineering jobs every year between 2008 and 2018.   There is a significant mismatch between the actual number of total BME graduates and the projected number of jobs (see link at bottom of table below).  Anyone interested in these programs should note that the size of a department does not necessarily indicate a high level of quality when it comes to preparing a student for a corporate career.
